BYU- With by far the toughest schedule in the mountain west playing teams this year from the pac-10 which include Washington and UCLA. BYU will once again go undefeated this year in conference play, but will lose a game to one of their out of conference games. They will easily finish with the top record in the Mountain West as they are the only nationally competitive team in the Conference.

2.New Mexico- Finishing in third place last year, this year they have taken a step in the right direction by playing a very aggressive schedule with teams like Arizona, and Texas A&M. This will both hurt and help them over all, as I cannot see them winning all of their tough games. Probably the best game in the Conference of the year will be BYU and New Mexico. They will put up a tough fight, but just fall short of the top spot.

3.TCU- One of the wild cards of the mountain west and a last year's finish of 5th in the conference, TCU will crack into the top 3. They are a solid team with a good offence. They are playing Oklahoma, who were blown out in their bowl game last year. It will be a tough game, but not a must win for third place in an otherwise boring and weak conference.

Hibbert works out for Jazz

Last Wednesday the Jazz had Roy Hibbert a 7 foot 2 senior center work out for them in advance of the upcoming draft on June 26. During this years playoffs I noticed the Jazz had no inside presence. The Jazz have needed a big man that can score in the paint, and defend opposing big men. during the second round of the playoffs the Lakers Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom got to the hoop easily and often. With someone like Hibbert The Jazz could've cloged up the lane and stopped the Laker big men from scoring so easily. Hibbert would also be able to be a secondary scorer to help out Williams, and Boozer. With someone like Hibbert the Jazz could be a real contender for the championship next year.

New Contributor

We have a new author joining the blog. Ironically these statements are being made from the same un-realistically crazed Jazz fans who just a month earlier were comparing him to Karl Malone.

Should Carlos Boozer be to blame? I mean this was the Jazz year, Charles Barkley called them, "The best team in the West." Surely if Carlos would have played better The Jazz would still be in the playoffs? It must, therefore be his fault that they got knocked out and he should be traded the first chance they get.

This is an absurd attitude and is simply not true. The fact that the Jazz got knocked out of the playoffs is not his fault. The Jazz just don't have enough offensive threats on the court to take the pressure off of Boozer and Williams. Boozer had an exceptional season and a good post season. This post season he averaged 16 points a game, and had an amazing 12 rebounds per game with the only person beating him out in that category is the 4 time NBA champion Tim Duncan. This obviously is not enough, and he needs to do more, but unfortunately will not be able to until a third offensive threat emerges or is acquired. Lets face it, Mehmet Okur and Kyle Korver are big time shooters, but hardly an offensive threat that teams need to worry about. They can barely run down the court much less create their own shot off the dribble.

Think if the Jazz would have acquired Pau Gasol instead of the Lakers, does anyone doubt that they would still be in the playoffs? Imagine if they went out and got a David West, or a Lamar Odom. They would be a force to be reckoned with and most likely would be playing for a Championship.

Boozer is not the reason the Jazz loss and crazy Utah fans should not use him as a scape goat for their inability to get a ring. The failure of the Jazz to go the distance this year is once again due to the fact that the jazz management is unwilling sign another marquee player. Boozer is not the problem, the problem is that the Jazz is currently a two man team and they need help, at least more help than they are currently getting.

Im Back!!

I'm sorry for the absence these past few months. With names like Shaq, Jason Kidd and Ben Wallace being traded to teams attempting to match the domination that is the Boston Celtics. You would think the Jazz would also attempt to get one of these big time players.

The Jazz however, get Kyle Korver.

While I do believe he is a good player, he is no where near the same caliber as other players being traded for around the league. Yet, fans here say "This is a good move....we can compete with any of theses teams."

This is exactly the kind of bubble that Utah jazz fans live in. I am from Los Angeles and currently live here in Utah to go to school. I would support the Jazz if it wasn't for the un-realistic expectations and distorted views of Jazz fans.

Sure the Jazz will probably go to the playoffs but they wont go or get to a Championship until they make a big time move for a big time player.

Even with two big time players (Stockton and Malone) they couldn't do it. So what makes them think that without any marquee players they stand a chance against teams now stacked with the current greats in the league?

Outside of the state of Utah the average basketball fan couldn't even name one player currently on the Jazz. THEY HAVE NOBODY.

Phoenix, L.A. , Clevland and Dallas have all made moves that have instantly put them in championship contention. Why wont the jazz get for themselves the talent, leadership and star power they need and have been missing since Stockton and Malone left?
